Grief: A Heavy Burden on the Restless Soul
It seems like each week here at Wildflower Acupuncture brings with it a theme, so to speak. Something our clients bring to the space from their wild and busy lives within the hustle and bustle of Los Angeles, something the space brings out in them as part of the constant flow of everyone's energy commingling with the office energy... whatever you'd like to attribute it to.
This week's theme is grief: the loss of a beloved parent, the split of long-term lovers, the separating of two souls in divorce or death, the finality of a version of one's self ending so that another can emerge. All of these very real, very raw life experiences have walked their way into our office this week, searching for a way to heal and reflect.

This piece is very unlike the rest on our website's blog. It's not necessarily informative, it does not show you a way to make things feel better, it will not list the top five herbs to help with x or y or z, the most common points for this or that. This piece's purpose is to simply be, to stand as an acknowledgement of our patients real pain, their loss. It is meant to serve as a mirror, to reflect what heartbreak the soul may be exploring and to let it know it is not alone in feeling this.
This piece is for our patients this week.
For those in mourning, for whatever reason... you are valid. We hear you. Your pain is unimaginable, and though it is good to remember that you will be whole again, it is also important to remember that the pain you're feeling now is meant to be experienced. Take space for yourself, cancel plans, cry until your eyes have no more tears to shed, until your lungs ache and your cheeks burn and your body can do nothing but feel. You need to let yourself feel. This pain your experiencing is real, no matter what may be going on in your life.
Only when you let yourself feel, when you allow the body to experience do you truly open yourself up to healing one day, not now, but one day.
One day, food will have flavor again. The grass between your toes will smell sweet, feel refreshing again. The time spent with friends will fill you again and the nights spent feeling will have made a difference for you.
Feel.
With all of our love, The Wildflowers.
