Why Does Wildflower Acupuncture Smell so GOOD?!
Creating a calming atmosphere can start in a variety of places: the soothing colors painted on the walls, the plush and comfortable seating, the scent of pure bliss wafting through the air. We at Wildflower pride ourselves on the tranquility we've cultivated in our space here in Toluca Lake, and that includes the natural, herbal aroma we have.
We thought we'd kick this short week off with a fun blog addressing one of the top questions we get on a near daily basis: how does your clinic smell so good? We can't wait to share the products we use, why we love them, and things we tend to avoid so that we can further support our clients seeking help along their fertility journey.

Po Sum On
It's our most used product in the clinic, it's the one everyone asks about, and it's not even specifically designed for it's incredible smell! Po Sum On is an ointment designed for pain management that we utilize in multiple different treatments. Whether you have lower back pain and sciatica, muscle soreness or a headache, this oil does it all. It has a sweet cinnamon-mint scent that fills the entire clinic whenever a bottle of is opened.
Because so many of our clients love it, we've even started selling it up front!
Our Favorites
It is important to know what this diet's structure looks like. Below is an illustration of the food pyramid: Mediterranean style!
Here are a few of our favorite scent-related products:
Incense - We tend to favor local incense from shops like The Green Man on N Hollywood Way in Burbank, all natural!
Palo Santo - We source ours from local shops in Ojai, CA!
Essential Oils - Our favorite brand is Snow Lotus, as they have an entire line dedicated to the working with the elements in Traditional Chinese Medicine.
Aroma Therapy Mists - We love the mists from Moss Botanicals and Sophia Osara's line of Aura Mists.
Synthetic Perfumes and Fertility
While we love the smell of a nice vanilla perfume from time to time, we completely avoid the use of harshly scented perfumes or cleaning products here at the clinic. Not only are we very natural-forward with everything that we do, but we also work with a wonderful population of birthing people looking to conceive, and we know that intense fragrance or synthetic perfumes can negatively impact one's body while undergoing fertility treatments like IVF.
Here are a few reasons we stay away from synthetic perfumes in our clinic:
They are proven to be endocrine disrupters and contain harmful phthalates than can impact hormonal regulation. While they act as stabilizers in fragrances, these harmful chemicals can mimic or block the production of both estrogen and testosterone, leading to irregular periods and ovulation cycles.
They contain VOCs (volatile organic compounds) that can impact both sperm and egg quality, leading to potentially worse outcomes while undergoing fertility treatments like IVF.
Long term exposure to these chemicals as been associated with an increased risk of infertility in the long term and more negative birth outcomes and complications.
Final Thoughts
We hope you've enjoyed this guide to creating an inviting, luxurious scent profile for any space. We absolutely love when I clients walk through our doors and immediately breath in the freshest, most calming air they have all day, calming the senses right away. We hope you can take some of these tips into your daily routine and encourage you to treat your space like the safe, sacred haven it is.
With love,
The Wildflowers
